Healthy Frozen Yogurt

This non-fat greek frozen yogurt is perfect guilt-free treat for those who love ice cream!


Directions

1.  Whisk the Greek yogurt and milk together in a large bowl.

2.  Add the sugar, lemon juice and sour salt.  Mix until well incorporated.

3.  Pour into the frozen bowl of your ice cream maker and churn until frozen.  Times may vary depending on the kind of ice cream maker you use.  In our Cuisinart, it takes only 5-10 minutes.

4.  Scoop immediately for soft-serve or store in a covered container in the freezer.

ingredients:

  • 3 cups non-fat Greek yogurt 

  • 1 cup skim milk

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice 

  • A pinch of sour salt (optional)

  • Ice cream maker

instructions:

1.    Whisk the Greek yogurt and milk together in a large bowl.

2.    Add the sugar, lemon juice and sour salt.  Mix until well incorporated.

3.    Pour into the frozen bowl of your ice cream maker and churn until frozen.  Times may vary depending on the kind of ice cream maker you use.  In our Cuisinart, it takes only 5-10 minutes.  

4.    Scoop immediately for soft-serve or store in a covered container in the freezer. 

NOTES:

I prefer to eat the frozen yogurt after keeping it in the freezer for about an hour.  It is still soft enough to serve, but will not melt as quickly.  If the yogurt is completely frozen…you should let it thaw for at least 15-30 minutes before serving.  It will have more of an icy texture, but it is just as delicious!
