Strawberry Poke Cake

Sometimes the best desserts are the easiest. That is definitely the case with this no-fuss poke cake. Whether you make the cake from scratch or use a box, it's hard to find anyone who doesn't like this easy dessert.

1. Prepare cake mix and place in a 9x13 inch baking dish lined with parchment paper.

2. Bake cake according to instructions. Let cool for 5-10 minutes.

3. Using parchment paper, lift cake out of the dish and let cool completely on a wire rack.

4. After the cake has cooled, put back in the baking dish upside down without the parchment paper.

5. Using a straw or end of a wooden spoon, poke holes across the entire top.

6. In medium bowl, add the Jell-O box and boiling water. Stir until mix is dissolved.

7. Add the cold water and stir until combined.

8. Spread the strawberry Jell-O over the cake making sure it gets in all of the holes.

9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before adding topping.

10. Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip. Garnish with strawberries. Keep refrigerated until serving.

How to cook Strawberry Poke Cake

  4. After the cake has cooled, grease the baking dish and put the cake back in upside down without the parchment paper.
  5. Using a straw or end of a wooden spoon, poke holes across the entire top.
  6. In medium bowl, add the Jell-O box and boiling water. Stir until mix is dissolved.
  7. Add the cold water and stir until combined.
  8. Spread the strawberry Jell-O over the cake making sure it gets in all of the holes.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before adding topping.
  10. Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip. Garnish with strawberries. Keep refrigerated until serving.

NOTES:

Feel free to use any type of Jell-O. Our favorite are raspberry, cherry and strawberry.
