Directions

1. In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.

2. Add the onions, salt, and pepper.

3. Sauté for 7-8 minutes stirring occasionally until the onions softened and turn golden brown.  Remove onions from pan and set aside.  Make the Au Jus.

4. In the same pan, melt another 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

5. Add the minced garlic and cook for a minute until fragrant.

6. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire, and thyme.

7. Bring sauce to a boil and then reduce heat to low.  Simmer for 10 minutes.

8. Remove the Thyme and strain the sauce.  Place in a small bowl and set aside.

9. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

10. Place a small bowl, upside-down in the middle of the parchment paper.  Unroll crescent roll tubes and separate each triangle.

11. Make an overlapping circular pattern with the flat side of the triangle facing the bowl.  It should resemble a sun pattern.

12. Spread the mustard on the middle of the ring.

13. Continue to layer with the provolone, roast beef, and caramelized onions.

14. Fold the points of the crescent roll pieces over the filling and tuck underneath the ring.

15. Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with parsley.

16. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.

17. Remove from oven and transfer to a large plate or bowl.

18. Place the Au Jus in the middle of the ring.  Cut into pieces and serve warm.
