Brownie Ghosts

Delicious, thick brownies decorated special for Halloween! Melted white chocolate drizzled over a marshmallow on a brownie. The kids will gladly turn in their candy for a treat this perfect!


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line an 9 x 9 baking pan with parchment paper or grease with baking spray.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

3. Add the butter and oil to a large bowl. Mix until creamy.

4. Add the sugar and mix for a minute.

5. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix until well combined.

6. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

7. Stir in the mini-chocolate chips.

8. Pour the batter into the pan and spread evenly.

9. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely in pan before cutting.

10. Remove the outer crust and cut equally into 9- 2 1/2” squares.

11. Gently insert a lollipop stick into the end of each marshmallow and place them in the middle of the brownie square.

12. Heat white chocolate and shortening in microwave safe bowl in the microwave on half power. Start with 1 minute and stir then 15 second intervals stirring in between until chocolate is smooth.

13. Drizzle white chocolate over the marshmallows until all is covered. It's okay if it drips down the side.

14. Let brownies sit for 5 minutes to let the chocolate harden. Then add the candy eyes and mouth. Keep brownies refrigerated until ready to serve.

  • 1/2 cup butter, slightly melted
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 9 lollipop sticks, halved
  • 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 9 large marshmallows
  • Black icing
  • Candy eyes
