Directions

1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet over medium heat.

2. Add the chicken sausage.  Break apart and cook for 5-6 minutes until browned.

3. Remove from heat and set aside.

4. Add the remaining olive oil to a Dutch oven or soup pot over medium heat. 

5. Add the onions and sauté for 5-6 minutes until tender.

6. Add garlic and torn basil leaves.  Sauté for another minute until fragrant.

7. Add the chickpeas, fennel seeds, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, tomatoes, and chicken broth.

8. Stir together and bring to a boil.

9. Reduce to a simmer and add the green beans.  

10. Let cook for 15 minutes.

11. Add the gnocchi and sausage to the pot.  

12. Cook for another 5-6 minutes.

13. Remove from heat and add the spinach leaves.  

14. Stir until spinach leaves are wilted.
