Maple Apple Blondies
Maple Apple Blondies are a mix of autumn's most delicious desserts! A moist apple filling mixed with a chewy blondie topped with a devilish maple caramel glaze. Just try to resist.
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x13 inch glass baking dish with parchment paper and spray with baking spray. Set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer add the butter, brown sugar, sugar and maple syrup. Mix until combined.
4. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
5. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
6. Stir in apples with a wooden spoon.
7. Pour the batter into the pan and spread evenly.
8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely in dish before adding glaze.
9. Make the glaze. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
10. Add syrup, brown sugar and vanilla.
11. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 3-4 minutes stirring constantly.
12. Remove from heat and add baking soda. Glaze will bubble rapidly. Stir until it turns to a lighter brown color.
13. Pour on top of warm blondies.
14. Allow the blondies to cool completely and glaze to harden before cutting. Let cool in refrigerator for best results.
